Multi-flexible production and LEAN methodology

The third competence area of Betech Seals is all about being an excellent manufacturer and single-source supplier.

Our production technology base comprises our machine park, LEAN production methods, innovative mindset in own in-house production environment and access to additional capacity and expertise via our global network of business partners.

Flexible, quality-oriented in-house production

From a production point of view, our mission – Improving your products – is a question of supplying the right product quality at the agreed time – every time!

This we achieve from our factory in Bramming by maintaining and expanding our state-of-the-art machine park, training our staff in a variety of skills – what we call multi-flexible production – and organising order processing in a highly efficient planning system.

Today, we offer customised gaskets on demand in small batches. This is a great benefit in comparison with conventional large-scale production.

Quality management "from drawing to production" is, among other things, achieved through initial capability assessment in which we carefully analyse whether we are able to produce the required part correctly in accordance with the available drawing and the required specifications.

A machine park with built-in customer benefits

Investment in new machinery. Conversion of existing machinery. Process improvements. Through continuous investment in new machinery, we expand our production capacity and upgrade our production processes, thus improving quality, increasing volume, reducing lead times and providing customers with an even greater variety of solutions.

Customers benefit in many ways from our multi-flexible production systems.
We can, for example, quickly produce prototypes and small batches on one of our cutting centres.

And technical product drawings are converted directly into the machine's cutting program, eliminating the need to produce punching or cutting tools. This saves both time and money.

These capabilities are especially beneficial to customers when designing and testing new products. Or when a mechanic needs spare parts when renovating old engines or machinery.

ISO standards and certification

Quality assurance to ISO standards and official approvals is of course also an important element in our production competence. Further details are available under "Quality and certification".

LEAN keeps the wheel of improvement turning

LEAN principles have been utilised in the Bramming factory for several years. As a result, many successful improvements have been introduced, yielding higher productivity, better quality, greater employee satisfaction and a noticeably cleaner and tidier work environment.

Much has been achieved thanks to such basic LEAN concepts as The Five S's, Procedure Standardisation, Visible Management and Total Productive Maintenance.

So much greater flexibility and simplification has been achieved that we in some cases can offer customised gaskets on demand in small batches. This is a tremendous benefit compared to conventional large-scale production.

We have come so far that staff from one department now audit and advise colleagues in other departments.

With the more development oriented LEAN principles – JIDOKA (built-in quality) – we endeavour among other things to ensure high quality in everything we produce. As a result, we avoid as far as possible having to sort end-products in order to obtain the required product quality.

Finally, we naturally focus on continuous improvement.

By implementing improvements suggested by our staff, we improve employee satisfaction, commitment and efficiency – and continuously identify new improvement possibilities.

We also utilise performance boards in each production department, where we can follow up on key performance indicators (KPI). And management encouragement at improvement events – kaizen – helps a department or production unit to continue down the road of increased simplification and productivity.

Our staff themselves check adherence to the agreed methods and principles. They themselves pinpoint cases of non-conformance – and they themselves suggest solutions.

This all keeps the wheel of improvement turning, with positive, enhancing effects on both performance and product quality.
